The Replica Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Moon originally came in three versions in 43mm cases, and in 2018 they are joined by four more: two in 43mm and two versions in 39mm. The most basic model from 2017 in terms of materials was a 43mm model in steel with an opaline dial.
It could easily be called the brand’s flagship watch and it’s characterized by those expansive enamel dials with the unusual figure-eight display. Well, at Baselworld 2017 Jaquet Droz upped the ante with the Grande Seconde Moon Phase, a trio of models that adds a new complication to the collection.
All versions of the Replica Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Moon are on leather straps, and equipped with self-winding mechanical movements. Prices are $15,200 for the steel model with silvery opaline dial, $17,300 for the steel model with black onyx dial (a Jaquet Droz boutique exclusive), and $28,900 for the rose-gold watch with ivory enamel dial.
A true mechanical marvel, the Grande Seconde Moon is also a piece of aesthetic treasure. Absolutely striking with its clean look and classic lines valued by Jaquet Droz, the ivory enamel version is adorned with an applied satin-finish red gold circular ring, echoing the light of the 43 mm case featured in the three available versions.
